An original copperplate engraving of Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire with later hand colour. It was published in Henry Boswell's Complete HISTORICAL DESCRIPTIONS of a New and Elegant COLLECTION of PICTURESQUE VIEWS and REPRESENTATIONS of the ANTIQUITIES of ENGLAND and WALES..... [etc. etc.]. 
 
The plates in this book are copies of the those by Captain Francis Grose who published Grose's Antiquities; the largest series of illustrations of ancient monuments in the eighteenth century which began publication in 1772.
